Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Feb 15, 2017 2:36 pm Next question is whether one is allowed to do your own septic tank installation and drain field, with a registered plumber signing off on it, or does the plumber have to do it? If so, how much can one do yourself, ie dig the holes and trenches? I estimated 56 mtres of drain field pipe (100mm pipe) on a 3,000 litre septic tank with a baffle - does that sound in the ball park for sandy soil?
