However, I am thinking that 2.6m is not wide enough for a comfy outdoor dining space. Would 4m or more be better? I am not planning to do it in wood. My last house had 3.6W x 5L & with all seats taken at the table (set in the middle) it was a bit if a squeeze getting around. We enjoy being outside & regular barbies so bigger the better! It will rob your house of daylight throughout the year, making it much darker, & shade direct winter sunlight, keeping your house cold when you'd like it to be warm. E, W & S verandahs, go for it! If you have the space, 4m or 4.2m would be better as it would allow a wider range of furnishings, plants, etc....
