However, we now have to get a building permit and need some sort of engineering signoff. We've contacted 2 companies but haven't received a reply from either. It will tell you what you need to design to. All you need to do is show the council how you came to select the materials you intend to use. Even foundations are shown. If you are not confident you could get a builder to design it for you.
