Having a country property now for + 10 years I see things a bit differently. Last summer I called in on a neighbour (who had been helping me cart quarry products in his truck). He was in the sheep's trough having a bath. He said he did not want to waste the water. This only happens in the country Re: OB in SA - Kitchen and laundry cabinetry in! 743May 28, 2017 8:26 pm Bigblock7 Tiles look wow Good to see some pics of the underfloor heating Excited about it too BB! I love this piece of Australia/the world that we live in, it's beautiful and simple but I need to combine it with some modern comforts in our home. I cannot wait to have our decking in and put a hammock there so I can read a book or just watch the world go by on a nice sunny day. So much to explore and enjoy here in Yorke. Our time and effort have been to doing this house. I just want to move in! I love that it's ours and we can't do as we wish. The flooring is going down tomorrow, we can't wait! I'm dying to see it after all this time but we'll also be able to install the dishwasher and oven once it's down, eating far too many takeaways at present. Still surrounded by far too many boxes, I think the charity shops are going to do well out of us haha So happy for you!!! That feeling sounds amazing! Even the eating of so many takeaways. That bubble won't burst for a while. I remember now though that you will have a TV in there. Need to see that. Might not look a lot but it's very fiddly due to getting the fall right (we will have open shower so we would like to make sure that water will just roll back before it reaches the panel edge) and then making sure that the area where our bath goes is flat. When we get our floor tiles, I will be labouring for him and we will have late nights to try to knock it off quickly. Our doors are ready. (Also, our Raptor sensor floodlight is arriving in a week's time). Yay!!! Perfect timing that Hombre will come down to Adelaide tomorrow so will take the trailer with him to pick up the doors . Was hoping that our bath would be ready too. But was told, deliveries happen on Fridays. Typical. Nevermind, we will just get the maybe on the weekend as Hombre is not far away from getting the tiling out of the way for plumbing fitout. Excited about the doors, want to see how it is in the rooms with the door on ie in terms of noise. But also excited about our plumbing fitouts. Want to see our beautiful taps, sinks and vanities on. Hope our sparky can come back soon too. Though not a big deal if he doesn't yet. I saw one in a kitchen/bathroom place before. Not sure if this is it. I have forgotten what our ensuite vanity looks like inside. Lol! And if I can put one in there. I even used these doors on my built-in cupboards. (Sometimes first time visitors walk into a cupboard instead of their allocated bedroom!) When I found out that my doors were to be discontinued, I bought another door as a spare (just in case one door gets damaged sometime in the future). I tried painting my doors outside but insects, pollen and/or dust settled on them whilst the paint dried so I ended up very carefully painting all the remaining doors inside my house (over finished floors). Haha, that is the sort of thing that I would do, try to go through a built-in cupboard thinking it was a bedroom. I wanted to get the deco 6s from Corinthians I think that was but a bit more expensive. If the doors can be put in without having to paint them yet (maybe except the 2 sliding doors that we have), that is what we will do so Hombre can finish his tiling of the bathrooms and laundry. We would like to keep going with the tiling once the main living area tiles arrived so carpet is not held up for long. He will just take them off one by one to paint and put back after. That is what I ended up doing. I wish I had this advice a year or 2 ago. Initially I took off 4 doors painted them and then had problems re-installing them as they got mixed up and I started re-hanging them in the wrong doorways. Hombre carried all of them inside. The solid doors are more than 2x heavier than the hollowed ones. Hombre says to use one of his brushes for his model kits. Teeny tiny brush. We'll see how long it takes me. The beers in the background are for our chippy for doing our doors. Got the Tasman blue. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So our home theatre colours are Dumbledore for the wall, Charcoal for carpet and Tasman blue for door and skirting. Or are they strong enough to be used as external as well? We have lucky number 13 for the inside, Wg. Hombre thinks the solid door can be used as external door. I would think so too, they're bloody heavy! P.S. not sure about the door thickness though for external use. Owner Builders in boot-shaped Yorke Peninsula : viewtopic.php?f=38&t=80264& |
