Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 May 21, 2015 4:57 pm Hello, we have a veranda that it is in shape 4m x 5m. We have already the structure, i.e. there is a concrete build at the top already around the perimeter of the veranda. Thus was is left is installing wood beams from one side of the concrete to the other. Can we have some help/tips please as to how to support the beams at each side and also if we need some support in between? Just to understand we want to do something like the photo - simple beams from one side to the other. i am attaching the drawings of my area. The concrete around has already been completed. As you can see the pictures we can install them either horizontally or vertically. Horizontal the area from one cement to the other would be a bit larger - 5 meters. Vertically the length would be - 4 meters. I searched a bit online in order to understand how to place the beams, but i am not sure what is the best way and also if i need to include any support in the middle of the distances, or if it would be ok to have a 5 meter wood without any support. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ieuz0o7chnr2f9l/4.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/vzr0yzs0ou77srz/5.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/j7j0ke3cp6phe ... n.jpg?dl=0 Thanks in advance! THanks , l got a licensed building inspector to look at the rust, he said its just surface rust and it would take many years to become a problem because the beams are so… 22 28081 if l cannot get a sandblaster would a sander with sandpaper be better then a wire brush 4 7350 |
