Thanks SteveMC, Abztronic, B4M3T's, Calvin and Twindad. Void and stair area were always my focus of the house so it's great it's all coming together in real life what I pictured in my head. Since the design is totally ours it was always going to be a gamble if it worked. Just hope I can pull off what I'm thinking with the stairs and pendant there. I have a few ideas for stair pendants but open to ideas??? LOL at winning the gyprock race twin dad. They were super quick for such a big house and I can't complain about the workmanship either. Cornice was finished in lower storey by 11am today. They were doing upstairs this afternoon with sanding over the next 2 days. We have gone Boral New York. None of the CSR ones took my fancy as much. It's the first non CSR thing we've used since our bricks, tiles, insulation and gyprock came from them. You really came to check out my void though didn't you? Re: Our OB project..gyprock photos 616Feb 23, 2016 5:23 pm JB1 Looking great. Are the tiles within the shower area the same high gloss tiles on the bathroom floor? Hi JB. All the tiles are the same , floor and wall. We didn't really like the matte version of the tiles. They aren't as slippery as you might think and we aren't really people who throw a lot of water round a outside the shower area. They look AMAZING!!!!! Re: Our OB project..gyprock photos 617Feb 24, 2016 5:38 pm Gyprock and cornice is now complete and all sanded ready for painting. The New York cornice is a lovely feature throughout. Only rooms that got the standard cove cornice was the garage and inside of cupboards. Even my girls WIR got the fancy cornice LOL. We've decided not to paint it ourselves. Its a big job and we dont have the time so letting the experts do it. They are also friends of ours so i know they will continue the great job they started on the upper eaves and lintels. Painting will start next week on the ceilings and rest of the eaves and lintels. In other news i have finalised all the fit out items except the door handles. Have gone with the Hume Sorrento door and half splay mouldings. Fit out should also start next week. After such slow progress everything is all happening at once. In less than a month we'll have stairs, floorboards, kitchen and pantry, a bathroom, laundry, painting and fit out done! Not many updated photos but will try and pop some on later. I agree, they look great but am very concerned with using any gloss tile inside the shower for obvious reasons. I've had high gloss porcelain tiles outside the shower area and have had no issues. Glad to know progress is happening again.
