The cabinets have folding in pocket doors which open to reveal a small sink and enough bench space for a kettle. We will also have a small hidden bar fridge here.

Though it hasn't all been rosy. Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 364Sep 13, 2016 10:08 pm Building4my3tots I knew you'd ask Not looking good. My Electritian had accepted a FIFO job so I've got to wait for him to return. How about you? About the same time, if I can get my Concreter lined up for next week! Awaiting council levels. The down side is I'm away for the whole week next week. Was meant to go on this holiday with the building thing well and truly behind me, and it was my reward for organising all this build. But now I'm going on holiday feeling stressed and falling behind in everything! So I think max move in date is weekend of 15th oct! Earliest is long weekend here in Sydney 1-2Oct! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75739&p=1299716#p1299716 Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 366Sep 16, 2016 11:25 am It's been a busy few weeks for us. Our external acrylic texture coating has been completed so finally our down pipes are currently getting installed. Atco have installed our new gas meter so I'm excited about trying out or underfloor heating now that winter is over . I have also decided to get painters in to do all the doors and frames as I was running out of time. Our cabinet makers have been off site for a week now so it will be good to get them back to finish off bits a pieces. Our plumber has been busy installing the toilets and tapware. Our shower screens started getting installed yesterday. Here are some progress pics: Sliding door into my sons bedroom finally getting painted: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Guest bathroom shower screens and astra walker Matt fittings. Great choice in tapware and tiling... We have very similar choices I hate the red tone in jarrah... Reminds me of my parents old furniture love the black stain... What a difference Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 370Sep 23, 2016 12:35 am hrvat_ica Btw, how high is your ceiling in the bathroom?? That's a lot of tiling to the top Yes, that's the original bathroom which is now the guest bathroom. The ceiling is a silly 3.2m Perhaps I should have lowered it to save on tiling. I know what you mean about jarrah.....I love timber but mainly walnut or oak. Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 371Sep 23, 2016 7:25 am The bathrooms came up beautifully! And wooooooow!! That stain is amazing! I think I'm going to ask my painters to use that. It's exactly the look I wanted! C U S T O M. C O R A L. I had the luxury of cleaning my house this long weekend, which would save me $1500. BUT, I also discovered how badly my tiler grouted the tiles. With your shower corners, from where your wall tiles hit the floor tiles, will that remain grouted/cemented? Or will you silicone that joint? My builder said grouted, but I've also hear of ppl siliconing that area. What are you going with? My builder said grouted, but I've also hear of ppl siliconing that area. What are you going with? Heya, we are slowly dragging our feet to the finish line. Carpets go in on Monday and we move in on the 14th. Lots of things to finish after we move in though. Regarding tiles. Our downstairs is grouted while upstairs is siliconed. Our upstairs is timber framed and hence more chance of movement and therefore the requirement for silicone. I believe the code on brick houses doesn't require silicone corners. OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 378Oct 04, 2016 10:41 pm I'm going to attach pressed tin against the rear wall of our bedroom tomorrow . The first step was to attach 18mm ply to which I'm going to glue and nail the tin on. Then I'll etch it and paint it in lexicon white. Preparation is tonight. I've never played with tin so I'm slightly nervous about it. - seems to be the theme of our build Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 380Oct 05, 2016 7:40 pm I love it!
