Pls advise on your opinions if it's advisable to have skirting board installed and then scotia or scotia would be sufficient. Thanks, Re: Bamboo floor boards 2Sep 20, 2014 1:04 pm The scotia is normally used if the skirting is already fitted, you can lay the floor then fit the skirting then theres no need for the scotia. I havent had a lot to do with bamboo floors as we usually put timber in our houses, but ive seen 2 recently and to be honest was not that impressed. In both cases the amount of shrinkage was to the point the floor in one ended up with an 8mm gap between the edge and the skirting.
