Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Sep 09, 2014 10:34 pm Hi, I am currently building a new house (owner bldr) and as it is difficult to get tradies out where I am, so I want to plan where everything goes first before I get a plumber out. What I need to know is where can I install the two gas bottles I want to install and make the slab for them to go on? I understand that there needs to be 500mm clearance above bottle outlets and 1 metre clearance either side of bottles. Can I install them under a raised deck and someone told me that they need to be 7.5m minimum from the first appliance outlet....is that correct for NSW? I was hoping to be able to have it about 1.5m from the first appliance. Also, I am installing a split solar hot water system with instant gas backup (LPG) - is there some rule for where this can be installed? Again, I was hoping to mount the unit about 600mm from solar tank and 500mm down from deck...would this meet the code? I would greatly appreciate any guidance with these two issues....thanks Re: LPG gas installation requirements 2Sep 10, 2014 1:49 am I have read somewhere that when the gas plunder fits the system they will install pretty close to first appliance as to save on copper pipe.
