I have been quoted about $1,400 for some BAL 29 rated metal mesh screen for windows, but started looking into the possibility of making my own, Bunnings has Cyclone aluminium insect screening (website states 'ember protection'), aluminium frames, spline, spline rollers and corner-attaching kits and I costed making my own at around $200. This would seem to meet the bushfire requirements which are
* mesh with a maximum aperture of 2 mm, made of corrosion-resistant steel, bronze or aluminium
Wondering if anyone out there has any hands-on experience with building requirements for bushfire, and can let me know if the council will be ok if I made my own?
