Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Jun 27, 2014 8:35 pm Wondering if anyone has used or knows of any builders in the Koorda area. Looking at our options for our vacant land & so far, only come up with transportable/modular homes. Any insight into local builders, would be greatly appreciated Re: Central Wheatbelt WA builders 2Jun 27, 2014 9:25 pm You need to talk to your neighbours. They must live in houses built by someone. In the country local builders often rely on word of mouth for work. Typically they do not advertise or have yellow pages listings. Talk to the local council building inspector about who is building. Some councillors may even be builders. Don't expect display or show homes. Building can be seasonable in the country, some builders in the country do other work. They may work on the farm at say harvest time. I would stay away from transportable homes if possible. Their size is restricted by the maximum width that can be transported on public roads (even if they stitch 2 modules together they are still quite small/narrow. Transportables are built using city labour, thus putting local builders/tradies out of a job. This might initially alienate you in the local community (assuming that there are local tradies available). Building a house in the country using local labour immediately integrates you into the local community. Hi, just need to ask if anyone build with Central Properties in Victoria.
