Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum Re: Cabinetmaker Perth? 2Mar 25, 2014 6:41 pm After having endless trouble with 2 separate cabinet makers who had their own business we have opted to go through a large company. We know the quality of work is excellent and they will fix anything that isn't right without a fuss. Character cabinets in Armadale is who we are using to finish our house, they did the rest of the bathroom vanities etc during our build. If you are in a hurry probably not the best though as it was 2 weeks for a written quote and now waiting on drawings. We did try another large company in malaga but it was 2500 more and there really wasn't any reason for it. Character cabinets is slightly more than the individual cabinet makers we started off with but it is so worth it! Make sure you see the quality of the cabinets and you have very detailed plans..learnt lots of lessons over the past couple of months! Write in a completion date in the contract too and consequences of it not being met. Re: Cabinetmaker Perth? 4Mar 28, 2014 11:33 am Hi Ross We are going with West Coast Stairs in Wangara for our cabinetry PS How is the build going? <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Cabinetmaker Perth? 5Mar 30, 2014 10:29 pm Thanks everyone for your replies...as you can imagine budget is one of the biggest issues at this stage in our reno...we have put a whole new roof on our house and extension which wasn't in our original budget as well as replacement windows to match the new windows in the extension...again not in our budget BUT both decisions Im really pleased with..... This has impacted our kitchen/laundry/pantry budget...I have got an IKEA quote which we can afford but I am worried that this might spoil the renovation...and I would be disappointed. I really want a Hamptons style kitchen, simple, off white... What do you think IKEA (LIndigo) or find a cabinet maker who can make me the kitchen that l really want??? Any advice would be appreciated! Phil Re: Cabinetmaker Perth? 6Mar 30, 2014 10:34 pm I got ikea out to quote out our laundry (I've spent many $150 getting quotes) I honestly think you can do better <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Cabinetmaker Perth? 7Mar 31, 2014 9:08 am Thanks AKB...Im going to contact the company you recommended and see what they say...you are absolutely right I think if we go down the IKEA route we might regret it and in a few years feel we need to change it...an expensive mistake... Re: Cabinetmaker Perth? 9Apr 29, 2014 1:02 pm Hey mate i would contact luke at metric cabinets, He did my new kitchen great job looks very nice built sturdily and he was happy to negotiate price down he was 50% under some of the orginal quotes i received. I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13103 1 11009 1 4676 |
