We started our reno last October/November and we are making progress. The majority of the trades we have used have been excellent! Thanks go to Docker Rob for suggesting an excellent bricklayer and also to AKB for lots of great trade suggestions! WE used the Home Base Expo Owner Builder network for the other trades as well as recommendation from friends/tradies and touch wood its all been great. Apart from the engineer who made a typo (!) in his engineers report which listed a 220kg beam instead of a 550kg beam...and wouldn't even apologise or answer the phone! BUT... you have to move on when you're owner building and not dwell on the small things (even if they weigh 550kg!) My last thread was called Moving kids into garden and has some original photos...I'll upload some new ones so you can see progress!
