Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Nov 17, 2013 9:57 pm Hi All, I was speaking with a sales agent today regarding a block I'm interested in. I asked for the plot soil classification to which the agent replied "the developer does not have to disclose this information, however the block you're interested in, does not contain any rock"!! This has obviously set off the alarm bells and so I was think I should get some soil testing and some sample cores drilled ASAP. Therefore, does anyone have a Perth soil tester / geotech contact they could recommend from experience? Where would be the best place to core drill.....at each corner of the proposed slab and one in the centre? What a typical price for each core sample drilled? Our proposed house will be U-shaped in plan, over 2 levels, so was considering maybe 5 or 6 holes drilled. 2 two in elevated section, 2 in lower section and 1 or 2 on the batter section (if possible). Cheers Mark Re: Perth Soil Tester/Geotech Recommendation 2Nov 19, 2013 3:54 pm Hi Mark, You can use struterre in Balcatta just take your site plans in and they can go out and drill your site acording to your plan and will give you a written report cost is about $2000.00. Hope this helps. I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13091 If you need to pay for a project manager you would be well advised to just engage a builder who would take full responsibility for the build.
