I have a query with regards to insurance for the installation of a fibre glass pool. We are doing it as owner builders and have had a quote for construction/liability insurance with is just under $1k, the other half believes we don't need it as we are not employing anyone. We are paying a local pool installer under $5k to install and connect to pump equipment and excavation company approx $1k to dig hole. We have paid for the pool and pumps and hubby is willing to take a risk for damage to pool as the excess is quite high anyway.
We are going to get Warranty Insurance once installed to cover defects.
Do we need the other insurance if the installer has their own public liability, work over etc? Hubby doesn't see the difference if we got someone to do works around house we don't get insurance! Now a bit concerned!
