Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Aug 29, 2013 11:26 pm Hi guys, I'm in the market for a secret nail gun for my 19mm karri flooring I'm about to purchase. I've seen quite a few different kinds, some pneumatic, some airless. What are the differences between the two? Also, I've seen some for $700 and some on ebay for $150. This will not be used much, maybe one or two projects. Can anyone recommend a reputable brand? I've looked at hire costs, but considering I'd probably be doing this on weekends only, it's not worth it for me to hire. Re: Timber flooring - Secret nail gun 2Aug 30, 2013 11:00 am The pneumatic ones are as you guessed powered by a compressor and the manual ones are powered by whacking the end with a hammer. The good thing about the latter is that as you whack the end driving the staple in you also cramp the flooring together tight. I've used both and while all my other nail guns are air powered I prefer the manual for doing flooring.
