Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Aug 14, 2013 2:50 pm Hi I need some help in choosing the colour for my internal walls. We are building with Eden Brae and they use Taubams. I really want a grey colour, a light grey ( paired with bright white trims, ceiling and doors). I don't want a grey with greenish, blue etc undertones. Just a pure grey colour Ive been to the Home Options Gallery to have a look at the colour samples and I had picked Cloudburst for our walls and Tahira White for the trim/ceiling ( was quite disappointed in the colours available actually - i couldn't find the bright white i was looking for) I googled Cloudburst to see if i could find any pics of the colour in an actual home. I found one however I'm concerned with how it looks - it looks quite blue on the walls. I don't know if its cause of the computer or if that's how it is. The swatch i have has no blue undertones, which is why i chose it. I want to ask - has anyone chosen this colour and have any pics or if they have any other colour suggestions? Perhaps you could ask if they have any houses under construction you could look at. Getting a neutral like a grey or a beige that isn't a little bluey or pinky or yellowy is so hard! Paint companies can make any colour, we have used colours by X in paint by Y and although they warn there might be minor variation we've never noticed. On the other hand if you've noticed an undertone you don't want be very careful. If it's just a pic on a computer it might be simply the pic but you want to find out for sure before you're stuck with it for however many years. Sorry, yeah, Home Options Gallery is where we go to do our selections. It so difficult finding the right colour! I'm thinking my only option is to go and buy sample pots of the colours i like... My parents are renovating their house and they have chosen 4 colours and the 2 colours so far that they have put on their walls they were not 100% happy with as they look different to the swatch in store and different to the photos (they were doing whites and light greys), as all photos and swatches depend on the lighting (natural or artificial) and how much light. I would think it best to make your own swatches on your walls - it may cost more than looking at a photo but a few tins of sample paint wont equate to much, compared to litres and litres of the wrong paint that you couldn't stand to live with! Noone wants to paint any more than already necessary! Id get it mixed at the store rather than buy a tin so they know exactly what you want then you can just amend it until its perfect. GOOD LUCK!! Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 6065 The spacing of the studs looks pretty large especially for a load bearing wall. 3 11123 Nope, only on the inside, I've literally has my ears to the brick outside and can't hear anything. I can sort of 'reset' the noise by pressing firmly on the studs. This… 10 11795 |
