Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Plumbing fit out :-) 1173Jan 11, 2015 10:29 pm Sorry guys my DH was updating the server on Saturday so I lost emails - yikes.....if you know anything about me you now I'm a scardy cat .....I don't wait for the evacution order I think that's a waste of emergency services time and anyway when the emergency advice comes out it says to either defend or leave .,,,,,, we always leave that is what insurance is for we spent last night camping at our office with our animals and came back first thing this morning ........thanks everyone for thinking of us my thoughts are with everyone north of us as the side of the fire is 18kms long now has the potential to become the front althought latest news is that we all managed to dodge a bullet Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Plumbing fit out :-) 1174Jan 11, 2015 10:39 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ [/URL Camping at the office [URL=http://s1307.photobucket.com/user/akbsmi/media/BE52408F-B0D9-4B4D-BDAD-0AD9222F5F52_zpsyuj5ywjf.jpg.html] Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We left the photo doesn't do it justice viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Plumbing fit out :-) 1175Jan 11, 2015 10:47 pm My sister who is on 5 acres in Bindoon can smell and see smoke tonight thankfully the firies managed to get a hold of it before it hit Muche viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Plumbing fit out :-) 1177Jan 11, 2015 10:57 pm Glad your safe!! I like your sensible approach Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Plumbing fit out :-) 1178Jan 11, 2015 11:04 pm I have to say I'm quite cranky about peoples insensible approach the dfes was saying the fire would hit muchea at. Approx 3pm this afternoon since 10am...at 5.30 there were people asking for help to evacuate their horses even though people had been putting up help with floats and cars since 10am at 5pm they closed the major road in as floats etc were getting in the way of emergency vehicles ..,the only reason I'm cranky about this is my sister was one of the people to drive in at 5pm with her float to muchea.....I promise no one will laugh at you if you choose to evacuate your horses early viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Plumbing fit out :-) 1179Jan 11, 2015 11:33 pm Geez, AKB, it's a real tough one. I think most people have no idea re the potential ferocity and unpredictable nature of bushfires. I was in Bullsbrook yesterday and it looked pretty scary from where we were. We have lost lives down our way (SW) due to bushfires, and my fella is out half the night fighting them when they are close to home. Its such a hard call to fight or leave for some people, especially the farmers whose land and homes have been passed down through the generations. I am so glad you are safe, and I really hope your beautiful home stays safe too. Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Plumbing fit out :-) 1180Jan 11, 2015 11:52 pm Rache I have nothing but the utmost respect for the professional firies, the volunteers and those that choose to stay and defend. For us it is just a house, it is also a house sitting in the middle of bush that is what I like about it but it also practically makes it indefensible......I just get cranky at those people who wait to the last minute to evacuate who never intended to defend what did they achieve...,..I would be deverstated if someone was injured or worse trying to save our home xx viewtopic.php?t=62083 Thanks again Simeon for being so elaborate.
