Re: My custom build in country vic 22Jan 04, 2013 8:38 pm Deemaree Good looking shed & solar! We are 19km inland from Warrnambool-close enough to enjoy the beach and far enough out for us to be able to afford our acre! Ahhh very nice. The beach is good, but not good for me - I like old cars and they don't like salt water!!!! I bought a car for parts last week that has spent most of its life in warrnambool and man has it got some rust in it! Luckily I didn't buy it for the body! Have you got a link to your home? Treeseachanger How many panels? And what are the shed colours? We got the system locally, looked into it and priced around for a while before settling with this kit. There are 20 panels, and they are Renesola 156 series panels. The inverter we went for is the SMA sunnyboy which is meant to be a pretty decent one. Waiting to find out what feed in tariff we will receive (as we got the system locked in before the rebates changed at the end of 2012). It's funny, looking on my power meter we have used a total of 7kwh (in about a month) and put 48kwh back into the grid in just over a day. The shed colour is woodland grey, the same as our house roof Re: My custom build in country vic 23Jan 05, 2013 12:21 pm Link in my signature. Will check it out, for some reason signatures don't show up on the mobile version. I also can't seem to log in on my iphone (keeps telling me its the wrong password but works fine on the computer). Maybe that has something to do with it. Re: My custom build in country vic 25Jan 13, 2013 1:41 pm Hi all, here is a copy of our floor plan. It has changed a little from these ones. We had a lot of "must haves" on our list so we tried to arrange is as well as we could around that, yet keeping our design relatively simple. -Main entrance has a 1200wide front door and the feature wall at the entrance (internal) now extends to about 2m long. -The tv bulkhead has been shortened making it more central to the living room. -The kitchen is complete different from that on the plan, with a bigger island 1200 X 3000ish, with a sink in it, and the oven on the wall between the window and the pantry. A few other changes I may have missed as well. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The area between the garage and the alfresco is where we will one day put the swimming pool, that's why we shaped it around that as well. Very happy with how it has come out, especially being able to walk through it. It confirms exactly what we wanted. Re: My custom build in country vic 26Jan 19, 2013 10:04 am Love the family living- similar to mine- and rumpus is huge! Also good storage everywhere! What is the size of the house, looks huge?? Re: My custom build in country vic 27Jan 19, 2013 4:48 pm Treeseachanger Love the family living- similar to mine- and rumpus is huge! Also good storage everywhere! What is the size of the house, looks huge?? Hey, yes open plan living is nice. We wanted a completely separate rumpus room, and the other condition was that it had to comfortably fit a 3/4 pool table. I hate playing pool and having to be always watching for wall space etc. I just checked this site out for room sizes: http://www.australianbilliards.com.au/rmsize.htm We should fit an 8 or 9ft table in no problem, and a small couch as well. Plenty of storage was a must, that was the problem with our last house. Total slab/roof area is 475m2, and total internal living excluding garage and alfresco is 267m2. Electrical is all done now, I think we went a little over the top with TV points and power points but anyway, easy to do now than later. I put in all the speaker wires for my surround sound and speakers for the alfresco the other night. The aircon guy was also there putting the unit in the roof, he was still there when I left at 10pm The bricks are moving forward as well which is good. The plastered was there friday putting in the battens and is starting to hang plaster either monday or tuesday. We spent about 4hours this afternoon putting all the wall batts in on the external walls. Glad thats all done, 3 of us put in flat out non stop for 4hrs, just got a few small gaps to fill tomorrow arvo. Moving forward well, good to see progress again after not a lot happening over christmas. Re: My custom build in country vic 28Jan 21, 2013 5:43 pm Plastering started today, pretty happy about that. They got a few of the walls done and the rest of the batterns in. We have to put the roof insulation in tonight so that they can get started on the roof. Loving the progress now! Re: My custom build in country vic 29Jan 24, 2013 9:08 pm OK, so here's a couple more recent shots. This is where the plastering was up to yesterday- most of the house had been done in 3 days, very happy about that! Re: My custom build in country vic 31Feb 11, 2013 6:12 pm OK, its been a while since an update. Have been very busy with the house. Plaster and cornice has been finished. Internal doors, arcitraves and skirts have been fitted. We have gone around all the nail holes with the putty, and sanded, and dusted, and painted... Painted most of the interior yesterday in undercoat, and painted the top coats in the wet areas today. Electrician has drilled all the holes for the downlights and same with the air con guy. Cabinetary will be in within the next 2 weeks and the tiler is starting the waterproofing this week some time. The bricks are coming along well too. Looking forward to getting through the painting, it will be relief when we have finished that! Getting closer by the day- no more pics for you all sorry!!! Re: My custom build in country vic 32Feb 16, 2013 12:17 pm So we have had some stray cows walking around our area recently. Here's 3 of them LOL. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Have painted two rooms completely now. Just need to touch up in the cupboards from overspray and around some of the cornice and edges. Cornice is "tempo", skirts are 67mm bevel. Ceiling and cornice is "whisper white", the internal doors, skirts and arcitraves are the same in a satin. And the walls are low sheen "beige royal". Still deciding on a colour to go with them for a feature wall. We have a friend who used "linseed" for their feature wall but we are thinking something a bit darker. Here's a couple pics of whats been happening anyway. Bricks... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Rumpus room... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Guest room... Hey, yeah we might have to head down and get a sample of doublestrength and try it I think... Re: My custom build in country vic 37Mar 03, 2013 8:09 pm Ok, a bit of an update. We finally got around to painting our feature wall in the master bedroom in Double Linseed. Hope you like it. Also got the rest of the painting done apart from the main living/kitchen area. Kitchen has been delayed until this coming wed/thurs, then the plasterer can finish off and we can whip over that with the gun and rollers! The tiler is starting this week and has got the waterproofing done. Bricks are also getting there, bit of a long stretch, but hes on the home run now, then we can get the veranda up! Plenty has been happening. We now have robe doors and garage doors on as of today. Tiles are almost finished and will be done by Easter. Then the sparky and plumber are left to come through. Veranda frame is up but still waiting for the tin to go on. Enjoy.
