I've been advised by someone to use purlin tape to prevent the "cracking" or "bang" associated with steel frames (caused by temperature variances). Apparently the tape is foam backed with a teflon type surface on one side which allows slip and stops sudden movement. Has anybody used this tape and can describe exactly where and how it's applied?
