Re: My new house at Fern Tree, Tasmania 239Mar 30, 2014 10:39 am I just stumbled on your thread through a search for scaffold hire - yikes, it is seriously expensive! However, reading on, the story of your build has been utterly inspirational at a point when I was doubting my ability to manage a series of renovation jobs at my place. I now feel I can get through what needs to be done provided I can be realistic and accept there will be setbacks from time to time, as you experienced. Your house is superb, and I hope you continue to post more photos as the build nears completion. Re: My new house at Fern Tree, Tasmania 240Mar 30, 2014 2:39 pm Thanks Nibbles, and everyone else -- much appreciated! The toughest part of this build is relying on others to do their jobs... that's really the only thing that's given me frustration. Cost is a worry, but I suppose I'd expected that (thank you Grand Designs!). But if trades turned up when they were supposed to and did the job they were supposed to do in a timely manner, it would have been a breeze. It is fun doing stuff yourself, though. Everyone should give it a go at some point, and if you screw up you can always get someone to fix it... eventually. Hello. I just bought a few acres in Habana, Mackay, and my horses seem to love hanging around under this tree. I would like to name the paddock after this tree. Can… 0 9528 Fellow Perth dweller. Looks like pruns nigra. It's a dark leaf flowering plum. Doesn't get massive and is easily trimmed deciduous tree. Very popular in small gardens in Perth 7 2759 |
