If you take any part in the build you also have been involved as part of the owner build, and probably should have been listed in the owner build application to the Building Commission. Coz listed or not you still are part of it. Like it or not that's how I believe it is done now. The only way I am aware around this is to complete the relevant courses and register as a builder, which these days is a fairly onerous, and expensive process unlike a few years ago when almost anyone could register.
