It's great to see some internal walls, though I will miss ducking through the frame to get from room to room Owner Building on 1800sqm Sanity Intact so far Locked up March 2012 Re: Owner Building a PAAL Camden in the Lower Hunter Valley 83May 14, 2012 6:58 pm Wow,it looks huge, love the look of your open fireplace. How does it feel to be PLASTERED Re: Owner Building a PAAL Camden in the Lower Hunter Valley 84May 14, 2012 7:14 pm Looking great Our Building on 118 acres in South Gippsland thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=54556 Re: Owner Building a PAAL Camden in the Lower Hunter Valley 85May 16, 2012 10:49 pm First set.......and guess what ? I'll post some pictures soon. Tiler to start on Monday so it's all systems go-go-go out there atm. Re: Owner Building a PAAL Camden in the Lower Hunter Valley 92May 28, 2012 1:26 pm Well....our gyprock and cornice are now fitted - slight hiccup with the fancy plaster cornice: I wanted this one as we'd had it at our previous house (and I lack imagination when it comes to trying new styles ) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But I what I ended up with was the same pattern but a different profile (I can be honest and say that I wasn't too happy about the mix up at the time but I'm able to compromise and have accepted this cornice instead - even though I think it would look much better in a bedroom than in the formal areas we have had it installed....) Heath Re: Owner Building a PAAL Camden in the Lower Hunter Valley 96Jun 15, 2012 1:09 pm Hi lynny-jane! I just stumbled across your thread here (my mum was showing me your house as an example of a nice style of verandah - we're in the planning stages!) and I couldn't beleive my eyes - we must have driven past your house several times when we've been on our way through your street (you might remember us, I know there was someone there working more than once! - we were the ones who slowed down and drooled) - your house is LOVELY!! I can wait to see it finished. I have a soft spot for the camden design too (shame it wont fit on our block!!) and you guys have done a great job!!! My husband has commented a few times when driving past that he likes how you've set back the garage too so that it doesn't spoil the old world look of the house, but it still fits in with the overall style. *sigh* I'm very very envious of your beautifull home! Well done to the both of you - you're doing a great job!! I hope thats us one day too!! We officially own some dirt!! and a little grass... Re: Owner Building a PAAL Camden in the Lower Hunter Valley 97Jun 15, 2012 5:47 pm Thankyou so much a_minnie....it truly has been a labour of love and it's great to know that other people can see the beauty in it too. It has been a risk to build something different in that estate seeing as though it's predominantly project homes, we hope the risk will be worth it. Amazing how it suddenly turns into a home when the paint goes on. I feel your pain with the cornice painting. I painted all our cornices 3 coats and my shoulder was burning so much from having my arm up in the air for so long. We've got the same coach lights too, except they're hanging downwards and are cream. Love your bathroom tiles too, especially the floor tile colour. I'm wishing I'd found a tile similar to that. Your tiler has done such a neat job, you must be so pleased.
