Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Jan 28, 2012 4:33 am Hi all, I've decided to owner/build, and as this will be my first house, I qualify for the first homeowner's bonus. Usually, this is applied for when building contract is signed - at the start of the build, but for owner/builder's, it's apparently when an occupancy certificate is issued - at the end of the build. I'm a bit nervous about not checking up on this, as I don't want to build the whole thing and then find out I had to apply for the bonus anytime beforehand - and now no longer qualify! So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point.
