Depends on how many changes you make during their drawing up process as well. It pays to make sure you are sure on what you want before you get them to start. Is it a one room add-on or two added on downstairs with a complete new second floor , garage and deck as well. It makes a big difference to the overall price for drawing it all up. Have friends getting plans done from scratch with draftsman who is charging about $4000 and other friends who had plans hand drawn to scale and are still getting charged around $4000!!! Probably pays to shop around/ get recommendations because they are all very different.. As I mentioned before in other topic we found very good draftsman, who did it for only $2k, including land surveying, energy rating assessment, and 8 printed copies. Quotes from other drafties in my area were from $2k to $8k for exactly same thing. So you definitely have to shop around. Thanks very much!
