It's a very strong bone. I thought so. Geez, must have been a bad accident. Hope he is mending and got the good pain relief drugs. Re: Rocketship's build... 623Nov 03, 2012 7:59 pm Ouch. Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope the turf is being nice to you and growing its roots after all the effort and accident. Yeah, the turf seems to be mostly doing well, thankfully. So much to do outside and a few minor fix ups around the house but bit by bit we will get there. Have a guy coming soon to talk about appropriate plants for us & do a planting plan for us. Very windy around here and want to make sure that we get the right things in the garden right from the start. I am really keen to have most of the landscaping done by Christmas - fingers crossed.... may not be enough spare weekends between now and then... Re: Rocketship's build... 625Nov 03, 2012 9:14 pm I know exactly what you mean about not enough weekends with all the post move in tasks... DH has finally got HT finished and moved back outside to continue with retaining wall at rear. Next is mark out garden beds, order materials and get started on that part. Need to make sure we get our soil and turf delivery before we lose truck access to backyard. It just feels never ending, huh. Sick of the dirt and lack of clothesline. Re: Rocketship's build... 627Nov 04, 2012 2:07 pm Vess - be careful turf doesn't come too late in summer when the sun might make it much more difficult to take properly. We are struggling with our turf, watering day and night, with the heat over the past week. We think 80% has taken, but there are definitely dry bits. I still get onto homeone every now and then to check out what's going on but I haven't posted anything for ages, I've always been more of a stalker than a poster!!! What has been happening??? Well, hardly a thing with the house but lots of stuff going on in life... I'll spare all the crazy details of the last few months of our life but will share our very exciting news - we are having another baby. 25 weeks now, due in August. Have been very sick up until the last couple of weeks... finally over morning sickness, now just exhausted and getting uncomfortable. We already have 2 gorgeous boys and we are expecting a little GIRL this time!! Freak out but exciting. We are still living with no plants in the garden although we did start a rock retaining wall out the front last weekend and are waiting on the brickie to come in a few weeks to build our letterbox so we can finally finish our gardens. I promise to post pics when we get to that point. Turf in the backyard is well and truly established, we have got most of the vegetable patches all set up & they produced some great tomatoes, capsicums, carrots & corn this season (lots more next planting), we have put the trampoline into a pit so the kids can step straight onto it so just plants for the backyard. Anyway, thanks for checking up on me and I promise when I have something to show, I will post pics. Cheers. I have been in complete shock since finding out we were having a girl. I was so sure it was another boy. I'm glad I found out because it has taken a while to get my head around the idea. SunshineT What exciting news!!!! A baby girl and the dug out trampoline sounds very cool indeed. Nice to hear from you. I am like you, don't post regularly but check in every so often. Thanks T. Dug out trampoline was probably an exaggeration! Because we have a sloping site it has been cut into slope and a retaining wall around one edge. Thanks gogo - very excited here too! This baby will go downstairs to one of the spare bedrooms, I'm sure when she is older she will appreciate having a bathroom to herself. We will still have a spare bedroom for guests. Very lucky! Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17199 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10261 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9558 |
