Great that you are in Re: Argyle WA - Rocky Hill OB 67Aug 16, 2013 8:58 pm Thanks for the comments. Stewie, I only just saw your post. They are wall tiles. We picked them because they reminded us of stone. They are called "Cortina Ivory" SIN6300. Re: Argyle WA - Rocky Hill OB 68Sep 24, 2013 10:12 am It's really impressed your building thread. Great job mate Re: Argyle WA - Rocky Hill OB 69Sep 24, 2013 12:49 pm Very impressive your skill set is broad and of high quality, not to mention your patience! Well done and long live the mighty Valiant! Re: Argyle WA - Rocky Hill OB 70Sep 29, 2013 6:18 pm Hi all, So I have been a combination of slack and injured. I had a motorbike accident and a combination af flesh wounds and broken ribs have kept me laying in bed for the last month. So I finally have some photos of the mostly finished house to share. These are from before we moved in so all the furniture wasn't in at this stage. This is the kitchen/dining. Still need to do the marri floor boards. I'm also not rapt in the contrast between the bench top and cupboards. We picked the cupboards first and just went safe with an antique white. We then fell in love with the granite and had to have it. I'm toying with the idea of having them painted in 2 pack to suit the bench top better. Re: Argyle WA - Rocky Hill OB 71Sep 29, 2013 6:28 pm The other thing we have made a start on which has come to a screaming halt while I recover is the grass for out the front. After the leach drains went in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We had a fortune worth of soil bought in and then had a full truck load of composted manure put on top. My wife hired a cultivator and mixed it all through including bentonite clay and zeolite. Not 100% following Fu Manchu's method, but as close as we can. My neighbour is a retic guy and I wired his house for him so he and his wife were happy to help my wife get it done. We have decided to go for the new male sterile Kikuyu. We love maintaining a lawn and prefer the feel of Kikuyu to buffalo. Re: Argyle WA - Rocky Hill OB 72Sep 29, 2013 6:41 pm your place is looking great and that granite is lovely. was just telling a friend about your build yesterday and here you are posting. My friend lives in Argyle but over the other side of the highway and she has a huge glass area/window in the main living area of her house a little like yours.. she's just joined the forum today. The white in the granite is not as bright as the white of your cupboards. Perhaps once you've been in a while it might not seem so stark. Hope you recover quickly from the bike accident. Re: Argyle WA - Rocky Hill OB 73Sep 29, 2013 10:54 pm Thanks Kerry. It will still be a couple of months before I'm fully back on my feet. Yeah, the cupboards are a tough one, because I don't know what colour will look better without going for a complete scheme change. I think I will wait till we get the marri flooring in and assess from there. Hope you are recovering from your accident. Yes I would wait till you have your floors in the cabinets may change completely and not be so stark. A very light grey would be nice though if you had to change colour. Broken ribs must be really painful and they don't usually strap them nowdays do they? Since marri tends to have some greyish tones throughout, I think you're wise to wait and see. Looking at it longer I also think a grey toned wall paint might actually tie it all together very well. Howdy all.
