Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Jul 30, 2011 9:32 pm Hi, most subfloor access doors are about 700-750mm. I want it wider by an extra brick bringing it to 960mm or so wide. With an appropriate steel lintel above, is there any reason why this can't be done? Re: what is maximum size subfloor access door? 2Aug 01, 2011 2:05 pm So long as you have the right lintel to support the bricks you can have the door as wide as l you like. Perhaps a double brick row around the door frame would also help strengthen the area? A wider door is definitely a good idea. The distance between my DEBs varies from 4.1m at the narrowest to 8.1m at the widest. 5 27260 Thanks again for this information. If you do hear anything different, would be great to know 4 8182 Jimbo73 I would use heaps of adhesive on each sheet and screw rather than nail. use as many as you like cheers Simeon 1 4043 |
