Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Feb 17, 2011 7:40 pm Hi, I am familiar with the requirements to get a new house through in the CD sytem ie: 8m total height max, 6m to top of top plate, 900mm from side boundarys etc.... What about the new State based system?? SEPP?, what are the differences? its 8.5m total height, but what about the other requirements? No max height to top of top plate (apart from 8.5m)? boundary setbacks? Am in the process of designing our new OB home now, obviously dont want to design as complying development if when we go to lodge at council we discover complying development has changed to the state based system, & have to redo plans. Anyone got any info as to when complying development will cease?. Thank You cheers Woodchip Re: Complying Development Vs new State based System? 3Feb 19, 2011 7:02 pm I thought there was just the Complying Development system based on the NSW Housing Code vs the regular council approved DA. I just got a CDC through and it was as easy as chips and no complaints from the neighbours given it simply had to comply. Ended up getting me a bigger and better house than the normal DA route. Cheaper too. Does not stop complaints from the neighbours - you'll get them directly rather than via council Re: Complying Development Vs new State based System? 5Feb 19, 2011 8:53 pm we just spoke to our local planning dept in the council they told us their requirements 900 from fences 7 meters from front boundary and that was pretty much it no fees or charges until we put our plans in. stay safe happy building Re: Complying Development Vs new State based System? 6Feb 21, 2011 10:42 pm For NSW, the complying development rules under SEPP can be found here http://housingcode.planning.nsw.gov.au/ ... D&tabid=42 You can also use local council rules as well but these are usually more onerous. I am using a complying development for my reno - quicker and cheaper than going through council and no formal objection process Hi All, I'm new here!
