Structurally...it will be designed for the duty required therefore no difference.
Not sure what you are getting at with flood events...the level of the slab will be designed in accordance with council requirements to design for a 1 in x probability event...again irrelevant to the slab type.
I may not understand the query...

I would have thought baccman means that he may consider building an elevated house, eg Queenslander type? and therefore wondering about the difference in structure given his soil type...
