HI there
Well why in the world of building houses do things never go to plan? Our wonderful carpenter is leaving us a bit earlier than expected to join the police 9we always knew this was happening but it has been brought forward by two weeks) and all this does not co incide nicely with the scaffolding schedule.
The firm that we are using take a break for three flipping weeks which I find very irritating. Our contract gives us 14 weeks and this ends a week before they are due back. this coupled with their extended closing means I cant bring down the top floor when it suits me and will end up costing me both in time and their blody fees.
I have thought of trying to find a chippie for a week to give the carpenter a hand but that is like a needle in a haystack at the minute. Any ideas? At least this might then speed things up and I could get the first level down so that my plumber and plasterer can have a good crack at the next level.
It is all so frustrating and what makes it worse is that I am off work and could actually be helping out.
Has anyone had this issue with scaffolding and do you think it would be okay to ring them up and discuss a way forward. I am not sure why I have to be penalised on all fronts.
Thanks in advance
Kay
