Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Nov 19, 2010 2:28 pm Gday I am in Brunswick Melbourne and Im having a bugger of a time finding the right people/person to help me with some work I want to do to my property. Our long term plan (12 months down the track) is to renovate the kitchen and bathroom, but before we can do that we need to do some demolition and maintenance work to prepare the site: -excavation around back of house to drop soil to correct level below bearers. -finishing of excavated area with pavers and correct drainage to keep water away from under house. -demolition of old brick chimney. When I contact businesses that specializes in renovations and extensions they say the initial demolition and maintenance work is too small for them and they're not interested. I personally dont have the knowledge or skills to co-ordinate the separate contractors (ie stumper, excavator, plumber)... So I guess Im after a builder/manager who can get in sub-contractors to do the various parts of the job, while managing the overall project (ie the initial demolition and maintenance). Is there such a person? What kind of builder am I looking for? Anyone recommend people/businesses in Melbourne that might take on a project like this? Thanks for any tips and advice...
