Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Nov 09, 2010 11:50 pm So the situation is this... Red Tounge flooring went down, we siliconed all the joins when we laid it as well as all the screw holes to prevent swelling from rain. Since then, we have done the external framework & recently put the roof on but we have also had A LOT of rain. The silicone has obviously minimised it but there is still substantial swelling along all the joins. We need to get the internal framework done & the obvious answer is to sand back the whole floor to level it for the framework. My problem is that without external cladding, a sanded red tounge floor is surely, more likely to swell. We can't do the external cladding until framework inspection takes place. Can anyone shed some light for me on what we should do? "A dream you dream alone is only a dream. We have been told the outside cladding can go on only after framing inspection because we have bracing & the inspector needs to make sure that they are done correctly. We will just have to get it up & inspected asap I guess "A dream you dream alone is only a dream.
