Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Nov 08, 2010 1:36 pm Hi We are just about to move into our new house. It is a simonds home and 10 years old. It is in great condition and the current owners have looked after it really well. Does anyone know if there is an archive, web site that shows all the old home designs in particular 10 year old Simonds designs. I looked on their website but it only has current ones. I would love to see the original floor plan (get a copy) and see what options are re changing some aspects later ( way down the track). Just floating the idea in case anyone has a clue about these things. many thanks renobeginner Re: simonds home - 10 years old - where can access plans? 2Nov 08, 2010 1:44 pm Ok, at the risk of sounding like a house stalker, I keep a lot of old Home magazines and a lot of old display home booklets. Can you post a rough drawing of the plan and I might have it somewhere. (I realise how weird that sounds! ) Or you give Simonds a call and try your luck. Even if you can access the plan it's based on, it may have been modified, so you probably need the actual plan specific to your home. If you give them your address (and the lot number before a number was allocated) you may have some luck. The builder's usually have a lot of plans on file on their computers. When we built with PD I wanted a specific variation, they didn't want to do it, so I gave them the address of a home exactly the same as mine that was currently on the market that had what I was after. They looked up the address and found the plans. That house was around 4 years old. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Re: simonds home - 10 years old - where can access plans? 5Nov 08, 2010 3:53 pm As 'B STAR' says the local council will have the plans that were submitted. It is a really good idea to obtain these & hang on to a record for future use for extensions, reno's etc Peter Clarkson - AusDesign Australia www.ausdesign.com.au This information is intended to provide general information only. If so maybe they might have a copy of the plans hanging around which they could include in the documents they give to you when the purchase settles. If not the other options listed above sound good to me Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down. So i would recommend you follow your approved landscaping plans to… 4 10977 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13773 |
