Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Sep 23, 2010 10:16 am Another question I don't seem to know the answer to. Who (as in what trade?) does a slope survey (is this what it's called?). Also, we have a 45acre block - do I need to be there to tell them vaguely where we want to put the house so they don't survey the entire place? Thanks Karen Re: Who does a site survey? 2Sep 23, 2010 10:27 am Do you mean a contour survey, just look up surveyors in the yellow pages you should find one. My guess with your large block you would just get them to survey the building envelope. And yes, you or some one in the know must be there. A contour survey for 45 acres will involve many hours(days?) work. I had a contour survey done on a 1.5 acre block and that was $5K, and I acted as chain man to reduce costs. Ged A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor.
