I found both companies very professional and happy to work with me to fit in with my schedule. Scaffold down, upstairs first fix done P 107Apr 21, 2011 10:40 pm It's been a while since I posted any progress, not because nothing has been happening but because I've been flat out. The float and set and the external float and texture has been completed upstairs. Also did the feature timber cladding out the front, and brick cleaned the top section of blade wall. The painting of eaves and rear axon cladding plus the stain on the timber cladding was finished so the scaffold could come down. The ceilings and cornice are complete up stairs. I've completed all the bulkheads down stairs in the theatre and kitchen plus the drop ceilings in the laundry and powder room. Scaffold down, upstairs first fix done P 108Apr 21, 2011 10:47 pm The house should be locked up next weekend. The plasterer has finished the float downstairs. The roof carpenter is pitching the roof on the lower roof tomorrow and the external render will go in next Thursday. I plan to install the Axon cladding to the downstairs RBV on Tuesday. Glass goes in on Friday so if I can get the doors on it will be locked up. Then we can start on the second fix. Things will slow down a little then but I can't complain, so far the progress has been good. We had one in our last house and whilst it scared the bejeebes out of me with a two year old that used to climb the balastrade, it is such a gorgeous feature! I love the outside look. It is really different. YOu are just behind us now ... the race is on my friend!!!!!!!!! k Re: Chippy's Build. Scaffold down, upstairs first fix done P 113Apr 22, 2011 7:36 pm Hi Chippy! Scaffold down, upstairs first fix done P 117Aug 04, 2011 11:57 pm Well it's been ages since I've posted an update, so thought I'd get everyone up to speed. I've been busy in the last month. I've hung all the doors and fitted all the shelving in the robes and linen cupboards. Built all the cabinetry (46 sheets just in the carcasses) including kitchen, laundry, 2 bathrooms, 2 powder rooms plus office, living room and theatre built ins and drawer units in robes. I've just installed the stainless steel bench top in the kitchen today and the ceasarstone bench top goes in on Monday. I've picked up all my doors and panels and will install those after the floors have been sanded. Speaking of floors, I've installed our timber flooring (golden oak) through the lower areas. I've just got the stairs and landings to do. The painting is all but completed, he just needs to come back and finish up the skirting, front door and a few other little bits when they are installed. Our aim is to move in at the end of August, it wont be fully finished but the inside should be complete with just the landscaping and externals to finish up. I'll try to get some pictures up soon. Scaffold down, upstairs first fix done P 118Aug 05, 2011 8:31 am Sounds like a mammoth effort! What about some photos! would be great to see the work done. Re: Chippy's Build. Kitchen, flooring, it's all happening! P 120Aug 18, 2011 1:22 am Well it's less than 2 weeks until we move in and there is still heaps to do. The painting, electrical and plumbing is basically finished. I finished the flooring and stairs last weekend and my mate is sanding the floors. They will be finished this weekend. The bobcat is coming on Friday to do the site clean, then over the weekend I need to install all the stormwater, run some conduits for retic and electric gates and do some formwork for the steps out the back. It all has to be finished for Monday as the grano workers are coming to do the driveway and reversing bay. We've got 160m2 of concrete to be placed then I'm going to expose it. Fingers crossed it goes ok. It'll be the first time I've tackled exposing concrete. I'm fairly confident it'll go go well. On Tuesday & Wednesday the painter is coming back to paint the skirtings in all the carpeted areas then paint the garage. Thursday & Friday the carpets are being fitted. The interior designer will also be hanging the curtains on Friday. Somewhere in amongst all this I have to install all the cupboard doors and panels. The carcases are all installed (except the living room built ins) but left the doors and panels off until the floor sanding is finished. I also need to machine up all the WA Blackbutt timber I purchased to make our front door and the upstairs ballustrade/feature screen and then build them. Then Saturday we move in!! I'm not sure I'm going to have time to do it all but should go close. Here's a few pictures of some of the progress.
