Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Jun 25, 2010 10:20 pm Hi All, unfortunately the roofing quotes we've got so far totally exceed our budget so I want to attempt it myself. I'm generally ok with what's required and have done a few largish shed roofs before but am wondering if anyone knows of any good Colorbond/metal fascia and guttering guides? The main point I'm unsure about is the mounting height for the fascia support brackets in relation to the roofing. Our roof is only about 50sqm bigger than yours although it might have more hips, valleys, etc. I've already got most of the tools and estimate it would take me 7-10 days to complete so I'll be saving quite a bit of money. In South Australia only the electrical and plumbing have to be done by licensed tradespeople. The work will be inspected for compliance, etc. and signed off by our licensed building inspector once it's completed. Re: Colorbond Fascia and Guttering Guide? 5Jun 27, 2010 12:10 am Roof plumbing and sanitary/gas fitting plumbers are totally different trades. In WA roof plumbing is not a licenced trade. A plumber may connect the storm water for you, but anyone can call themselves a roof plumber. I'm a carpenter and can and have installed roofs and gutters. The roof especially the roof plumbing may need to be done by a plumber. Sorry, when I mentioned the plumbing has to be done by a licensed tradesperson I meant the hot and cold water, gas and sewerage not including the roof plumbing. Yes, get a builder, make sure he is experienced and a registered building practitioner 5 8978 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 7872 Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2893 |
