Do you think it would be worth washing it or would you not worry about it? Washing the wall frames is not an issue I guess but floor joists and trusses would be a bit tricky to wash (as they have now been put up). What do you guys think? As a builder I have seen a lot of dirt on a lot of frames, but once they are clad there is no problem at all. Just think that the steel comes from dirt too (iron ore)! Our frame was delivered a week before it was installed but we it was kept off the ground using wooden bearers. If the frame has got lots of mud (thick layers or patches) it might be a good idea to clean them off. Usually once the roof goes on and the mud dries it will brush off easily. If you've got any concerns contact the manufacturer of the steel framing system. This is 100% true.
