Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Apr 21, 2010 9:53 pm Hi All, we've received two roofing quotes, problem is one specifies 425/LM and the other 340/LM of 762mm wide Colorbond sheeting. The house is ~190sqm and the roof pitch is 25 degrees, due to the design there are quite a few different roof planes. Does someone know the approximate linear metres of Colorbond roof sheeting required for this size roof? I was thinking it would be closer to 340/LM allowing for overlap, pitch, etc. but the 425/LM estimator was sure his quote was correct Re: Amount of Roofing Required? 2Apr 24, 2010 12:32 am The cover per sheet for corrugated roofing is 762mm. Divide your square metres by that to come up with lineal metres. Another option is to forget about the roof plumber supplying the materials, take your plans to a roofing supplier and get them to quote and then put it on the plumber (or another one) to do a labour only quote. Good luck! Builders are people too.... Re: Amount of Roofing Required? 3Apr 24, 2010 8:55 am builda The cover per sheet for corrugated roofing is 762mm. Good luck! Thanks Builda, the quotes are from Bluescope and Fielders, I'm hoping to do the roof plumbing myself. The 425/LM quote covers 340sqm, even after allowing for overlap, pitch, wastage, etc. I thought this was way too much for a ~200sqm house. When I called the estimator to check he insisted that his quote was correct Re: Amount of Roofing Required? 4Apr 24, 2010 9:22 am It does seem a bit high but if the roof pitch is steep then you will need more roof area to cover the floor area. Also, are there verandas and large eaves that also need covering that are outside your 200m2? Builders are people too.... 10 3821 I plan on installing an undercover walkway (awning ??) from my carport to the back door as shown in sketch. I will be using Boxspan Beams and have no concerns regarding… 0 781 I know foam has been around since the 90's and CSR started manufacturing Hebel in 1989, so it's definitely possible 5 5458 |
