Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ What power tool do you enjoy using the most. Ive got a Hitachi 4" angle grinder and it rules, had it 15 years and still powers on. Also cheap v. expencive, can the no name brand tools keep up with the top & more expencive tools. Is there a substitute for quality. Whats your choice of brand. Second to that I think every builder need to have there own drop saw. It has come in so handy at times. It even made my heater installer dude contemplate getting one. Our trusty companions that put the power in our hands to get the job done. Something very satisfying about having the gear! I have a few faves; My Makita cordless power drill is well used. My German made Fein multimaster is an amazingly versatile tool. Only thing is accesories are pricey. My Bosch rotary hammer carves through concrete and brick like butter. Its well used including when drilling and plugging to fit carpet smoothedge. Makita jigsaw. An old faithful AEG angle grinder. With work; My Kool Glide microwave carpet seaming iron. My Dremel glue gun. My steam iron which I use as part of the stain removal process. and finally..... (technically not a 'power tool' as in not a plug in) but.... Our trusty companions that put the power in our hands to get the job done. Yes, there is something about the feel of molded plastic, a twisted extention cord and 240 volts of DIY power. Now I just cant resist, Im a power tool addict, but I dont buy it unless I really need it, yer. My stash of equepment: 1 x B&D Australian made 25 year old power drill 1 x Hitachi 4" grinder 1 X Dewalt 10" drop saw (over priced and over rated) 1 Bosh 1/2 " router used it once (shame on me) 1 Arlec sander (cheap and good) 3 corless drills Ryobie ( I think they are OK for the price) 1 Ryobie corless saw 1 B&D planner (made in England) 1 B&D jig saw 1 no name circular saw 1 Rockwell circular saw 1 makita 9 1/4 ( good but heavy as ) 1 nail gun, framer. 2 brad and stapple guns. 1 GMC metal drop saw. Now, if I could only find the one I wanted to use when I need it. lol Im sure there is others out there that have a bigger collection than mine. Lets know what brand you other tool junkies go for and a bit of a reveiw as it may be helpful for people about to buy.
