Taking the plunge!

Hi all,

Have been lurking here for a while, trying to decide whether to build a kit or get a removal home onto our 10 acres in Northern NSW. Decided to go with the kit - will get it built to lock-up then do all internal finishing myself. Have just started to complete the DA and should be with council in a couple of months.

Like most people, budget will be tight but looking forward to the challenge!
Welcome to the forum and OB Club
Congrats on taking the plunge to OB
and good luck -
Welcome JohnR

If I'm correct to the OB club and to Oz?

Looking forward to reading about your progress.
Good luck
Hi JohnR! We had the same thoughts, relocatable home or build a kit. We went for a kit which just supplies the shell Delivery due in March. All windows, lining floors etc we source & supply. Keep us updated & I look forward to seeing your progress.
I found this site with how to videos that may help you.

good luck.

I'm in the same boat.

Jess
Thanks for all the good wishes!

We have decided on the home and are in the final stages of designing internal layout, etc. Our starting point was this: http://www.ballinabuilding.com.au/plans.htm

Should be able to give the go-ahead on starting the drawing process by the end of the week.

Lots of fun looking at kitchen/bathroom designs!

Cheers,
John

Thanks. I called VBA today and they said it was a Consumer Affairs issue, the old handball. Seems like the government organisations don't want to do their job at the moment.
