Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Jan 17, 2010 9:51 am We are hoping to get our OB permit sometime next week. We have had a lot of hold ups, but it seems we should be starting soon. My husband is a concretor, so will be doing the slab and footings as soon as our permit arrives. We already have our frame here, we ordered it before christmas, thinking we would have had our permit early Jan, but anyway, hopefully it will be here this week. It is great seeing our 'house' here, even if it is in bits The truck had a bit of trouble getting the trusses off, seems it was too heavy for the crane on the truck, but with a bit of manouvering it went fine. Our house will be a one storey 4 bedroom house, about 27 squares (I think). We are on 8 acres. Can someone tell me what kind of insurances etc we need to have? I assume we will be given this info with our permit???? but I'd like to get a head start on it. I also understand we need Q Leave, how do we go about doing that? Thanks in advance. Re: Our OB project starting soon .... 4Jan 31, 2010 10:46 am Finally we have started .... footings poured last week. We have plumber booked in for tomorrow or tuesday, my husband (concretor) will do slab towards end of week, carpenter booked in for weekend and roofer booked in for 10 Feb BUT we have rain predicted here for the entire week coming, so I'm not sure how much it is going to hold everything up. We are trying to finalise all our outside colour choices this week, but having a bit of trouble getting the mix right. I'll post some pics in here shortly of our progress so far. https://form.jotform.com/240284569218058 Please spare a moment to fill out this survey form for a project.
