Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Jan 01, 2010 9:41 pm Hello all, I had two expensive double glazed windows manufactured and delivered to my home in Melbourne. One of them was not stored flat against the wall by the deliverers. A few days later, during a very hot day, the four outside glass panes all fractured. I believe that this was because one upper corner of the the frame was not properly supported and sagged inwards, flexing the glass. I have photographed the windows in-situ and have had them observed by an independent witness. My questions are: 1. What are my chances of having the window repaired at the company's cost? 2. Am I likley to be covered by a standard home insurance policy? Thanks, Gavin Re: Windows that broke after delivery 2Jan 01, 2010 10:26 pm Ask them nicely, they will almost certainly fix it, the glass has to be less than the profit they make off you / your builder. As building aimlessly has asked if they were signed for upon delivery then you got buckleys. Does you insurance cover for items not built in? if not then buckelys also.
