We have picked out our land (not purchased) and our Kit home (also not purchased) we want to do our homework before we commit any serious cash to the process. SO, basically where do i start?? I have so far asked the real estate agent to advise if there are any building restrictions in the area. But i need rough costs for the rest of the build i.e. building approvals (cani get building approval before i purchase either the house or land?), insurances, connection to power (block is in a well developed suburb), connection to sewer, slab costs (19 cubes approx), electrical wiring, plumbing work. I want to project manage the build myself and only use contractors for the work that needs to be done by contractors legally, i.e. electrical, plumbing etc. Who are the best people to talk to about planning, insurances, costs etc etc. A lot of questions i know, but i really would like to be prepared for what i am getting myself into Re: OB Newbie, advice please :) 2Oct 30, 2009 12:02 pm See how much help a kit home supplier will give you.
