Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Aug 14, 2009 10:33 am The price I've been quoted by the company doing our roof was way too expensive ($9.3 per m2) so we plan to either install it ourselves or pay someone to do it separatelly.
How much did you pay for sarking? Did you do it yourself? How difficult was it? Re: How much did you pay for sarking? 3Sep 18, 2009 8:25 pm Why the extra for steel? Our sarking was just taped on with aluminium tape, then the sheets lay on top and are fixed down. (cant see that it should be much harder for tiles) Get a few more quotes. Re: Anyone installed their own sarking? 4Sep 23, 2009 3:43 pm I found Bradford Enviroseal roof metal/wall sarking at $690.80 for 432m2 which works out to $1.60 per m2. Is this possible? :S Sounds unbelievably cheap Re: How much did you pay for sarking? 5Oct 28, 2009 4:16 pm wake_me $60 / 50m roll. Did it myself so cant comment on install costs. Have heard some pretty hefty bills for install though. Cant see how, its dead easy. Can you install that post new build or does it have to go on at a specific time (which means getting in before the builder puts the roof on (and assuming they let you) Thanks Re: Anyone installed their own sarking? 7Oct 28, 2009 6:26 pm If your talking about anti-con under the metal roofing, it goes over the battens. You generally have someone rolling it out and tacking it on whilst the roofing sheets follow close behind Re: Anyone installed their own sarking? 8Dec 28, 2009 2:12 pm it is quite easy to install yourself, either on the roof or on the walls. Just be sure to lap it the correct way (start from the bottom) and tape the joins if required (usually only on roofs in some areas) Building Standards; Getting It Right!
