I just recived my Waffle Slab Qoute ,Please I need your opinion if you done the same ,I feel it is Expensaive .
my slab is 132 m , Cost is $17600.
Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum Re: my waffle slab Qoute 6Jul 09, 2009 2:02 pm Our build was originally designed with a waffle pod slab but after speaking with a number of people (concretors, engineers etc.) we decided to do a conventional slab, they all said waffle pod is a cheaper way to go but if you intend on living in the house for a while conventional will prove to be a better option, stronger and less movement I guess. Our house is 487sm and have been quoted $57500 which includes 800mm of Drop Edge Beam and 32mpa concrete. Piers worked out expensive they were done on Monday with 101 piers an a total of 230 LM have not yet received the bill but about 12-14K of concrete i will never see . Just my 2c worth The Soil classification has little to do with piers.
