If it is, I could do it myself from below, and save some money. I'm not up to crawling thru the roof space any more . The top hat battens're in place, so the batts would sit on them. It is much much quicker to do it that way. All you need to do is ‘string in’ the batts. That is, using string or strapping under the batts to hold them up until the board is installed. Re: Insulation before the ceiling ? 3Jul 07, 2009 3:01 am Hi Chris - yes thats the place to use that packing strap - mine cost around $40 for box & i used little staples to fasten to bottom of trusses. u can see it in the last lot of pics Kes posted up 4 me. its a good way to do around the eves or raked ceiling where it gets hard to get into from up top of ceiling. i wouldn't do the lot cos it takes time & i recon easier to do from top where u can fit into the ceiling space - saves time just drop batts onto ceiling if u can move about. r u right with the cladding ? my chippie will be at my site tomorrow if u still need any help on cladding fixing - knowing u it will all be on by now let me know otherwise.things r a bit mixed up down here ATM baby came early at one end of the family & we have a funeral at other end so i won't be in perth till end of month cheers tony Re: Insulation before the ceiling ? 4Jul 07, 2009 11:06 am Hi Tony, Quote: thats the place to use that packing strap - mine cost around $40 for box & i used little staples to fasten to bottom of trusses I'm going to recycle the brick pack straps, but no spring operated stapler can tackle them, so I'll use small clouts instead. More work, but I've got time. Quote: i recon easier to do from top where u can fit into the ceiling space - saves time just drop batts onto ceiling if u can move about.
