Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Jun 17, 2009 4:45 pm Hi all, hoping someone can help assist with how to go about costing a building project for the sake of what value we submit to our building surveyors for permits. It's a large veranda project and we're trying to keep it's value under $12,000 so as to avoid having to get consent from the Building Commission. So what costs associated with the project do we need to take into account and what can we leave out. (eg, do the cost of permits count towards the overall cost, do we need to include the cost of the drafting work we had done, etc). Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. JK Looking to start the journey of becoming an owner builder in SA.
