Silly question But if you were building out of timber, in the first picture would the beams in the ground still be steel but the ones running across with the traingle pattern be wood? Lintels, that is, not windows However we have a steel frame home and we didnt have all that steel work along the floor line, just had mesh looking stuff which the concrete slab was laid onto. Everything will be steel, except the floors which will be particleboard. Steel subfloor, steel wall frames, steel mid floor, steel roof trusses, steel roof. No I didn't, and I'm very glad I didn't now, as it is taking the installers a bit longer than the frame company estimated it would.
