Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 May 27, 2009 6:26 pm my soil report came today to my Drafty and he phoned me and he told my the bad new that my soil test is P and he told my the soild soil is 2.3 m far , I know it is bad news ,but does anyone know what is mean P and how much is Extra cost for the slab ? I don"t know how the engineer will treat this ? should he design all this footing all this depth or piers under the footing to cut the cost . This can mean a number of things, but plenty of people on this forum have built successfully on P sites. The engineer will design footings to cope, it will cost you more, hopefully not prohibitively so.
